FAQ: Product Characteristics

What is EverGrain® made of?
EverGrain® is made of a combination of plastic and wood fibers and contains recycled material content.

What makes EverGrain different from traditional wood?
EverGrain decks are built with composite decking material created through a unique compression molding process. Unlike wood, these composite materials withstand the test of time and absorb very little moisture – without painting or staining.

EverGrain railing is made of the same durable composite wood materials as EverGrain decking and does not require staining or painting.

Does EverGrain come with a warranty?
Yes. EverGrain comes with a 20-year Limited Warranty, with a 5-year Full Start period.

Is EverGrain low maintenance?
Yes. EverGrain Products do not require painting or staining but should be cleaned periodically. Refer to the Care and Cleaning section for helpful tips and suggestions.

Will the surface of my deck scratch?
As with all walking surfaces, deck boards located in higher traffic areas may show wear earlier than other areas. Dragging furniture or other objects across the Products will cause surface scratches.

Will the wood fiber on the surface deteriorate?
The wood fiber is encapsulated in plastic and deterioration will be minor. However, color will lighten slightly.

How should EverGrain be handled?
EverGrain uses a manufacturing process that creates a product that is heavier and more flexible than traditional wood. Do not attempt to lift or carry more EverGrain decking material than you can safely handle at one time.

Always wear proper clothing and safety glasses when working with EverGrain decking products.

Will EverGrain absorb moisture?
It will absorb very little moisture.

Will termites damage EverGrain decking?
EverGrain decking is warranted against termite damage when installed according to TAMKO®’s installation instructions.
